Shinrin-Yoku in Sintra

Shinrin-Yoku is the Japanese term for Forest Air Bathing, or Forest Therapy, where you learn to reconnect with nature, and soak in its healing powers

The Amazing Experience

Shinrin-Yoku

Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese term that comes from the words ‘bath’ (shinrin) and ‘forest’ (yoku), translating into Forest Air Bathing, or Forest Therapy. It is learning to reconnect with nature and soak in its healing powers. Shinrin Yoku combines leisurely walks on gentle forest paths with guided activities to help open up the senses and strengthen intuition. We all know how good we feel in nature.

The fresh air, the sounds of the forest, the scent of the trees, the sunlight through the leaves – these things give us an enormous sense of well-being. They reduce our anxiety, help us relax and think better. Walking in nature makes you feel as good as new, restores your energy and vitality, and rejuvenates you.

The Sintra mountain is the perfect place to practice this activity. At Casa do Valle we organize this activity, subject to availability and prior booking.
