By car
From Lisbon
Take the A5 or IC19 towards Sintra (approximately 30 to 40 minutes).
Once you arrive in Sintra:
Take Avenida Dr. Alfredo da Costa / N249.
At the roundabout where you see Sintra Town Hall (a beautiful building with a distinctive tower), turn immediately right onto Rua Guilherme Gomes Fernandes.
Turn right onto Rua da Ribeira (please note: it’s a tight curve).
- At the first intersection (where a street appears above and to your left), do not turn. Continue ahead. Rua da Ribeira ends at this point and the road continues with the name Estrada da Macieira. It is the same road, only the name changes.
Continue along Estrada da Macieira for about 350 meters, until you reach a junction with two streets on the left.
Rua da Paderna is the second street on the left.
Note: Rua da Paderna is a quiet street with restricted access. Although some GPS devices may suggest that entry is not allowed, our guests are authorized to access it, and we have private parking available on-site.
Parking at Casa do Valle
Direct bookings: Free parking.
Bookings through Booking.com, Expedia or other agencies: €10 per night.
Parking on the property is subject to pre-reservation and availability as the space is limited. When you arrive at Casa do Valle, please park by the gate, and we will assist you with parking.
Important: Driving and entering the historical center of Sintra is not allowed. Parking on Rua da Paderna is not permitted, and you may only stop briefly to check in at Casa do Valle. If you choose to park on a public street, the closest option is Estrada da Macieira.
By Train
The Lisbon – Sintra train is a convenient and economical way to get here:
The journey takes about 45 minutes.
Upon arrival at Sintra Station, you have two options:
Walk to Casa do Valle (approximately 15–20 minutes):
We recommend walking via Volta do Duche until you reach the National Palace, continue through Praça da República, walk down Rua De Soto Maior, turn onto Travessa da Paderna, and right ahead you will find the gate to Casa do Valle, on Rua da Paderna.Take a taxi (Recommended if you are carrying heavy luggage).
Note: Although there is a shorter walking route, we do not recommend going via Estrada da Macieira, as it is a dangerous path for pedestrians due to the lack of a sidewalk.
By Private Transfer
