PREMIUM DOC | SANDY SOIL WINES

Let the wines of Sintra tell their story

Colares (Sintra, Portugal) is one of the oldest and smallest demarcated wine regions in the country, uniquely located on sandy soils that protected its vines from phylloxera. This rare feature allowed ancient, ungrafted Ramisco and Malvasia de Colares grape varieties to survive since 1255, producing distinctive wines shaped by the region’s cool, humid Atlantic climate and deep-rooted viticulture. Celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay praised Colares wines in a National Geographic interview, calling them “One of Portugal’s best kept secrets.”
